Road and Pavement Maintenance

The Public Works Department is responsible for ensuring the City’s roads and transportation network remain in adequate condition. Maintenance to City roads include fixing breakdowns (i.e. frost boils), potholes and major pavement repairs (failures in road surface and structure). Other services this Department provides to the community includes street sweeping and line painting.

There are approximately 118 km of roads within the City that are maintained throughout the year. Most road maintenance is completed within the construction season, however, there are times throughout the remainder of the year when temporary repairs are required.
