Municipal Public Safety
The Brooks Municipal Enforcement and Volunteer Fire Department play an integral role in maintaining a safe and secure community. Members respond to fires, dangerous goods incidents, vehicle collisions, water rescue, and other incidents. Staff are also responsible for animal control, traffic safety, bylaw enforcement, and community education and outreach around bylaw and safety issues.
The Fire Department is made up of 32 volunteer firefighters and 2 full-time employees. Municipal Enforcement includes two Community Peace Officer Level 1s and a Bylaw Enforcement Officer. Further support is given to the BAPS for animal sheltering and the Safe Communities Facilitator, who coordinates community safety, domestic violence and crime reduction/prevention initiatives.
